HOW TO DO IT

Short Heel-Side Contact Window

Integrate heel support, intentional low touch and a controlled return.

Preparation and setting

ECRC-07 functional, ED09 heel return established, actual clearance/corridor reviewed and coach observing.

Exercise sequence

  1. Use a familiar toe-to-heel preparation that arrives balanced and mobile.
  2. Develop the heel arc with coordinated pelvis/trunk and spare leg range.
  3. Allow the agreed brief gliding contact without a trailing planted arm or sought head/shoulder impact.
  4. Shorten and restore ordinary riding early enough for a controlled toe turn.
  5. Compare with ED11. If the next entry needs a fling or long rescue, reduce depth and contact window.

Transfer

Use heel-contact followed by ordinary toe in ED15. Preserve separate readiness records for each edge.

Errors addressed

Heel contact as seated slide; Catching trailing arm; Late abrupt recovery.

Observable success

The heel contact arc and ordinary toe return remain repeatable without arm leverage.

Regression

Return to ED11 and ED09 with contact removed. Investigate unexpected support loss at reduced demand.
