Term

Slide

Travel in contact with a feature; board orientation and support determine the specific trick.

GLOSSARY · Freestyle & trick grammar

A slide is moving along a rail, box or other feature in contact with it. How the board is turned and where it is supported define the trick: a 50-50 is along the feature, a boardslide is across it.

Context and distinction

A slide travels; a stall stops; a press shifts support to one end. On snow, slides such as noseslides are named separately from feature slides.
