Small Coordinated Rotation Turns
Transfer orientation control without throwing the board across its path.
HOW TO DO IT
Small Coordinated Rotation Turns
Transfer orientation control without throwing the board across its path.
Preparation and setting
Gentle quiet groomed lane; controlled familiar turns and stopping. Blended turns are acceptable and labelled honestly.
Exercise sequence
- Ride a familiar short pair as the control attempt. Select one modest orientation action, not several new cues.
- On the next run coordinate the small pelvis/trunk action with an available old-edge release and new-edge transfer.
- Stop after the pair. Ask which changed first: orientation, board path or balance.
- Repeat from the opposite edge. If the tail throws sideways, reduce amplitude and inspect whether the old edge remained engaged during the twist.
- Retain the smallest action that serves the chosen task; do not enlarge it merely because the movement looks subtle.
Transfer
Use the successful range in ECRC-04 push-pull; keep lower-body steering options as separate strategies.
Errors addressed
Tail throw during rotation; Arm-led rescue; Missing opposite-direction coordination.
Observable success
Both directions complete a predictable pair without a violent tail sweep or unwinding rescue.
Regression
Return to ED03 and ordinary blended turns. Remove the new action until release and stopping control are reliable.
