Drill

Two-turn route rehearsal

correct late turn placement.

HOW TO DO IT

Two-turn route rehearsal

correct late turn placement.

Preparation and setting

Required: linked skidded turns on comparable smooth pitch, a controlled bump traverse, and the ability to interrupt the sequence at a visible stopping place. Start at the edge of a small bump field with an easy return to groomed snow. Inspect hard troughs and traffic independently of the apparent size of the bumps.

Exercise task

  1. from a visible stopping place, point out the first shaping space, second shaping space and finish. Ride only that sequence. The observer records where the board began redirecting, not where the shoulders first moved.

Observe and diagnose

Diagnosis: if the first turn succeeds but the second starts late, the first exit may be wrong rather than the second turn technically weak.

Transfer and success check

use the same look-ahead planning in irregular terrain. Successful completion means both turns fit without an emergency tail throw.

Regression

one turn then groomed exit.

Progression

a third linked space without increasing speed.
