Project Carving 180 chapter 11 — Progress happens in cycles, not workouts

One workout won't make you stronger.

One workout won't make you faster.

One workout won't make you a better carving rider.

Progress doesn't happen session by session.

It happens because every session has its place within a bigger plan.

That's why I don't think in workouts.

I think in cycles.

Some weeks prepare the body.

Some weeks increase the training stimulus.

Some weeks push performance to its highest level.

And some weeks deliberately reduce the load.

Not because we're doing less.

But because that's when adaptation happens.

Recovery isn't the opposite of training.

It's part of training.

Without it...

fatigue accumulates.

Movement quality declines.

The nervous system slows down.

And eventually...

progress stops.

That's why every four-week cycle in CARVING 180 has a different role.

Not to make every week harder.

But to make every cycle more effective than the one before.

4-Week Performance Cycle

🟢 Week 1 — BASE

Build movement quality and establish the foundation.

🟡 Week 2 — BUILD

Increase the training stimulus while maintaining movement quality.

🔴 Week 3 — PEAK

Highest workload of the cycle.

Challenge the body.

Never sacrifice technique.

🔵 Week 4 — DELOAD

Reduce fatigue.

Maintain movement quality.

Prepare for the next cycle.

The goal isn't to survive one hard week.

The goal is to arrive at the next cycle stronger, more efficient, and ready to progress again.

Because performance isn't built in workouts.

It's built in cycles.
